Welcome to the page for my new collaborations!
I will be releasing some new music under the name CHIRIGüE
This music is focused on the charango, ocarina, zampoña and bombo. Primarily instrumental compositions, and collaborations with other artists, both local and remote. The music leans more toward the electro-acoustic elements, or
Electro Folclor - combining cultural rhythms like cueca, chacarera, as well as more ambient textures with a modern touch. I hope you will enjoy this project!
The first release, “Aguas de Cordillera” was created with a an artist from Colombia, Paramúcura. We met in Seattle, where we recorded the charango, bass, and created the electronic drumbeat together. More layers and textures have been added while keeping the feeling very chill and relaxed. I hope you enjoy!
Chirigüe is a small songbird, the grassland yellow finch. Pronounced (Chee-DEE-hway). It is found everywhere from the tropics of Colombia, to the southern regions of Chile.
